How does the employment future look for the skilled trades?

With 50% of the current tradespeople planning to retire in the next seven to ten years, by 2020 Canada is looking at a shortage of a million skilled workers. There will still be a need for homes to live in, public buildings, roads, cars to drive and food to eat. The skilled workers that provide for consumer needs will be in high demand and short supply.
